[Especial 4º Aniversário] Entrevista a Sharon Hamilton

Escrever ainda me traz mais ideias. Ando constantemente a sonhar acordada!

Por alguma razão a música ajuda a focar-me, a concentrar-me. Bloqueia o resto do mundo.

Could you talk a little bit about yourself?
I’ve been a NYT and USA Today bestselling author, known for Navy SEAL romances, as well as paranormal series (Golden Vampires of Tuscany and The Guardians). I live in Northern California and am an avid gardener.

From where did you get your ideas?
Hard question for me to answer, but from everywhere: dreams, overhearing conversations, things I read in the news. Writing brings more ideas. The more I write, the more I want to write and the more ideas I get. I also enjoy listening to music (mostly instrumental) when I write or daydream. I do a lot of daydreaming!

Do you identify yourself in your characters? And have you got some character that is special to you?
I think there is a little bit of me in every character, or at least the heroines. I’m not in my 20s nor do I have a size 4 body, so I enjoy living in the fantasy of what that might feel like. I write the stories that could be, but are my own imagination.

Do you have any "weird" habits while writing?
I sometimes will listen to the same song all day long to get a certain scene just right. And then those songs later put me right back in the mood when I listen to them. Music helps me focus, concentrate, for some reason. Blocks off the rest of the world.

Since you became a published author, what was the most amazing and at the same time weird thing that has hapenned to you?
Amazing to get all these fans, to be followed. I’ve connected with readers all over the world. Don’t consider that weird, but just nice.

What do you think about the bloguers community? Do you think they were of any help when your first book was realeased?
Social media, including bloggers, are the only way people will find out about my books. Sometimes sucks up a big portion of my day, but it is necessary.

And finally, do you have any message for your readers?
I love what I do. Wouldn’t want to do anything else. Writing is something that I can do the rest of my life. It is my 3rd career, and I think my last.
